App Annie conducted a study on user interest in mobile apps in 2021 and found that users will spend 20.5% more money in iOS and Google Play app stores during the year than last year - $135 billion versus $112 billion, according to a company press release. By the end of 2021, users will have downloaded nearly 140 billion new apps - 10 billion more than in 2020.

Key findings of the study:

iOS users invest more money in apps - 65 cents for every dollar.

Gamers spend the most and bring in about 60% of iOS revenue and nearly 80% of Google Play revenue.

The most popular social network app in terms of user spending is TikTok.

According to the forecasts of App Annie analysts, in 2022, the applications of the social network will earn $ 9 billion, which is 82% more than in 2020.

The dynamics of downloads are the opposite of spending - it is dominated by Google Play. App Annie analysts predict that by the end of 2021, more than 100 billion mobile apps will be downloaded from Google Play alone.
